[00:07.464]What does it mean to be an artist?[00:10.640]I've been asking myself this question for the last three years,[00:14.823]and it doesn't get any easier to answer.[00:19.297]But I do know is an artist is not a performer, a producer or a celebrity,[00:27.142]because all three of those things can be replicated. They're replaceable.[00:31.386]I think an artist is what inspires someone[00:34.531]who pushes the narrative forward in their own direction[00:37.268]using the foundation laid by others or other artists,[00:41.067]I remember when I started making music,[00:43.176]I was really inspired by an artist,[00:47.994]12 hours a day just plucking away at my laptop[00:50.953]and biking to the internet cafe for Wi Fi.[00:55.893]Like,I really like making music[00:58.594]and I found out it's how I wanted to express myself.[01:03.622][01:04.771]That story to me is what it means to be an artist,[01:07.861]because I'm the only one that can tell it. [01:10.808]I've heard that in a few years, all the music I make is just gonna be replaced by AI. [01:16.915]But I can't actually happen to an artist[01:19.740]cuz no matter how cool or accurate that song is,[01:23.605]that makes it's not my song or my story or the conversation that I'm having with you when you listen to my music. [01:31.968]It's just my data reinterpreted. [01:36.097]I'll never be able to tell another artist's story,[01:39.542]but I can be inspired. Then literally did tell mine. [01:45.304]So tell your story and make something meaningful[01:48.663]because it takes a long time to make something that can't truly be replaced. [01:54.262]So after three years, here is my data, here is my unreplaceable, here's my wireframe.
